The Zen of Eating: Ancient Answers to Modern Weight Problems

The Zen of Eating: Ancient Answers to Modern Weight Problems
Kabatznick, Ronna. (1998).

I read this book hungrily, as you may too. If you struggle with emotional eating that creates problems, find out how spiritual nourishment can create the inner peace you crave. Though I'm not Buddhist, from the Buddhist perspective, overeating is a disorder of desire. This book makes sense to me. Once we learn to release our cravings and recognize the desires that trigger overeating, one can discover a balanced state of mind to navigate the extremes of overindulgence and severe restriction. While reading this book, I felt both excitement and inner peace at discovering a way to release the suffering caused by weight loss diets, unrealistic expectations, always wanting more. Look within-this book and yourself, for a mindful way to nourish yourself.
