Raindance: Impressions of a Native Land
Dan Gibson's "Solitudes: Exploring Nature with Music."
I absolutely LOVE listening to this CD several times a week for hours at a time! Either I'll listen to it by candlelight while doing nothing else but visualizing that I'm on this fantastic journey in nature, enjoying the tribal chanting down the rapids of a wild river, or to a terrific thunderstorm, or while a wolf howls at the moon, or remembering sizzling
mid-days in the canyons of West Texas. Or I may listen to it while I'm doing other activities, such as responding to email. The CD depicts the course of a day-from dawn to midday to dusk, blending the spirit and music of the indigenous peoples of North America with the sounds of nature. Perhaps it's my Cherokee tribal heritage that helps me enjoy so much the passionate drums, melodic flutes and the haunting voices, but I think that you too will find something of peace, adventure, and harmony in Raindance!
